Question

#1.  If I change exhaust on my fuel injected Harley, will I need to recalibrate my computer (ECM)?

Quick answer: Yes.  If you change any component in the ignition, fuel/intake, or exhaust system, it will alter how the bike responds to computer parameters, set by the evil meanies at the E.P.A.

Rarely are changes subtle enough not to be noticed.  So to optimize economy, torque and horsepower, an adjustable programmer is necessary, along with dyno time. (ours is a state of the art dynojet 250i with eddy current brake and air/fuel ratio monitor.)

Multiple changes always mean dyno time and an adjustable programmer for the best results.

Question

#2.  My twin cam has spring cam chain tensioners, is there a better way?

Answer: Sure is!  Two different approaches.  First, update / upgrade to new style Harley specifications with high output oil pump and roller chain cams, along with hydraulic tensioner assemblies.

Second option is a gear driver conversion kit with no chains or tensioners required.

Both choices require new cams.

Question

#3.  I want more power in my bike but don't want to completely rebuild it, it's a stock machine.

Answer: Most dresser riders like torque versus peak horsepower (see Dyno Charts).  We have proven torque camshaft grinds available.  All bikes respond to free flowing air cleaner and high performance mufflers, or complete performance exhaust systems.

Lighter bikes ridden more aggressively can choose a cam that comes in a little later in the RPM range, thus making more horsepower by moving torque peak up slightly.  Less bottom end grunt and more mid range to top end power is the result.
